Nashville Trip

Our trip to Nashville!
Linda and our driver, Stanley.
This is our second trip with Stanley driving. He is amazing! He maneuvers the narrow streets and tight spaces with ease. He also takes care of the walkers and handing out the bottled water and he is always standing at the door to help each and every one of us down that last step!

We had a step on guide, Carl, in Nashville. He was very good and sure squeezed as many sights as possible into our time there.
We started out going through a neighborhood where many of the music star live or have lived. They were all big beautiful homes but were hard to see because they were so far back from the street and the trees have grown quite tall.
Notice how green the lawns and trees are. It was beautiful weather while we were there.

This is some of the skyline we could see from the bus.

This "work of art" was in a round about that we had to maneuver several times both days!

The Upper Room is a beautiful place! Very prayerful.

Works of art on the stairway to get upstairs.

The large carving of the Last Supper.

Closer up.

The magnificent stained glass window that is the height of both floors.

The rail in front of the Last Supper carving. Many symbols all along the rail.

There we are out in the garden in front of the fountain.

Back on the bus!

Lunch was at the Farmer's Market. There were several choices of places to purchase our lunch. I had a veggie crepe. It was very good.
Across the street was the time line and World War II memorial.
These are bell towers in a circle. There is one for each state. They play each hour.
There are lots of inscriptions there but we didn't have time to go and read them.

The time line goes on for about two blocks. There are inscriptions all along the way. It is a very educational walk.

The Parthenon. We did not stop here. Guess we will have to go back again.

The Johnny Cash museum.
We watched the movie I Walk the Line on the bus on the way there which was great background for the visit. Not many pictures there as my battery was low.

Place setting of the Cash china!

A small but very interesting tour of Studio B.
Elvis did most of his recording here. Many of the well known Country Music Artists did their recordings in this studio.

These large guitars were in several places around this area.

The Country Music Hall of Fame.

We could eat at the Wild Horse Saloon but Linda and I walked a few blocks to Damon's instead.
This is right in the front of the Wild Horse Saloon.
Stampin' Up! took us to this Saloon for Manager's meeting a few years ago. It was wonderful! This visit brought back those great memories.

The Grand Ole Opry was a highlight of the trip. We were sitting pretty high up. The building holds 4400 people and it was a full house when we were there.
The Wounded Warrior Band was a highlight of the already emotional tribute to the armed services.
It was an amazing show!

There was so much more but I think I got the highlights here.

I did work on my swaps on the bus! I got three sets finished!

Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit, New Catalog, and Vacation Trip

Bright and very early Sunday morning, Linda and I headed out in front of this beautiful sunrise to meet the bus in Milwaukee for our Red Hat trip to Nashville.
We met the bus at the designated Park and Ride and were happy to find that many of the same ladies that were on the trip last year were present again.
It was a wonderful trip! I may share some pictures with you next time.
You can also check on Linda's blog at lindaloveschocolate.blogspot.com  She always does a great job with recapping things.

I did take the Hip Hip Hooray card kit along with me so I could show you what to expect in the card class at Festival on the 30th of May. I did these cards on the bus and it was fun to do. They are all different and very easy to put together. Everything is in the kit: The stamps, the ink, and even a cute little block for the stamps. There are 20 note cards and envelopes.  The kit sells for $23.05 with the shipping and tax. There were several parts left over that I will use to make three extra cards to add to the class. I have a limited number of kits so let me know if you want me to bring one along for you. The class will be $25. Come any time between 2:00 and 5:30.

The new catalogs are here!
I will have three projects made with the new in colors available for free with a $35 order. You would also receive a new catalog!

Hip Hip Hooray card kit

On the way home Wednesday evening we noticed this heart shaped cloud.
Kind of summed up the trip.
The weather was wonderful and warm the whole time.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Hope to see you at Festival.

Winner and Shaker Card with By the Tide set

Linda was the winner in the drawing for leaving comments this month.
She won a container of boutique details and dahlias.
Be sure to leave comments to get into the next drawing.

This is one of the cards from the Stamp Along.

Shaker cards are fun to do.
I used the Fringe scissors to make the "sand" that moves around when you shake the card.
By the Tide is one of the stamp sets that is staying with us in the new catalog.

On Friday, May 30th, I will be at Festival Foods, upstairs in the meeting room from 2:00 until 6:30.
I will have the Hip, Hip, Hooray Card Kit class for $25 The Kit includes everything you need to make 20 notecards. I will add three projects to that for ideas to use the extra material you get with the kits. You will need your own adhesive.

I will also have three cards done with the new in colors for you to do for free with a $35 order.
This would also include a new catalog for you that is filled with ideas and new toys!

Paper Pumpkin, Stamp Along, and catalog news

Today we got together to work on our Paper Pumpkin kit from last month.
This is what I did with mine.
Our next gathering is on May 31 at 12:30. If you are receiving the Paper Pumpkin, just bring your kit with you and enjoy doing it while we share hints, tips, and ideas. If you aren't already receiving it go to mypaperpumpkin.com and join. Be sure to pick me for your demo.

Here is another card that is packed for the Stamp Along.

I just love that Hardwood background stamp!
I also used the Woodgrain Folder on the coordinations card stock that has retired.

Don't forget to leave a comment to be in the drawing on Monday morning. I do that about 10:00 so don't wait until the last minute just in case i would be early for a change.

Bring your catalog along so you can mark the retired sets. I will also have my new one there so you can have a quick peek at it. I will put your new one in with your order from the Stamp Along.

Stamp Along next Monday

Just a few of the many cards that will be at the May Stamp Along.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms that are reading this!
Since the Stamp Along is the day after Mother's Day there won't be any cards for that but there will be a few that can be Father's Day or male birthday ones.
Also graduation and, of course, the standard birthday and Thinking of You ones that we always need to have on hand.
I can't believe how long it has been since I put some ideas on here for you!
I don't mean to neglect you. Maybe you need to rattle my cage if you want to see more ideas more often. It isn't that I haven't been busy.
I did go to the Premier for the new catalog!
I love it! Hope you do, too!
You can have a quick peek at it at the Stamp Along.
I will have my copy there and I have one ordered for you. It won't be here in time for the Stamp Along but I will put a free copy in with your order!
If you can't make it to the Stamp Along and want a free catalog, just email your order to me or
order on line using the Hostess code
DEPTK7HT
That will link it to the party but will ship it directly to you.
Hope to see you there on Monday!
