Busy Weekend and Punch Art

This past weekend I went to my first PowWow.
We left very early and it was a long bus ride. Of course, I took a "bus project" because I like to have something to show for a long trip.
This time a took the pieces that I had punched for one of the Punch Art card fronts for a swap for convention. I signed up for several groups of punch art (and others!) for convention. Each group needs 21 card fronts and I usually make a few extra to swap after the organized one.
I sponged the edges and assembled the squirrels on this card on the way there and attached them to the card front on the way back. What do you think?
I am quite pleased with the way they turned out! I still need to give each one some whiskers.

The punches I used for the squirrel are the owl, Bitty Butterfly, large and small ovals.
The trellis is made with the Chevron punch and the flowers are made with the Petite Petals.

The PowWow was very interesting.
When we got there, it was lunch time and we were hungry. I like trying new foods and was not disappointed. They had a whole lane of vendors with food and crafts!

This is one of the menu boards.

We had an Indian Taco for lunch. VERY GOOD! It was on Fry Bread.
Later on we went for the deep fried mac and cheese.
Very different; very good.

The opening ceremony was magnificent.

The drummers were in the center to the field in that round structure.
The parade started with the flags.

Followed by the veterans.

There were different groups of dancers. This group all had many bells sewed to their skirts.

This little one was just being taught to do the steps.

One of the many outstanding outfits.

This one was THE MOST outstanding!
He made it himself as many of them do.

Another view of it.

Another one with much beautiful beadwork.

It was a wonderful experience! We also visited the Culture Center and the cemetery.
More about that next time.
Thanks for stopping by.

What's Your Type?

What's Your Type is a very interesting set!
To look at it in the catalog you wouldn't want it but to see it demoed you NEED to have it!
I saw it at the catalog premier and knew I needed to do a class to show its potential.

These are some of the projects that can be done with this set.
I am doing the class that includes the set ($25.95) for only $35.
If you would like to make three projects and receive the set with the class let me know.
We can set a date and find others that are interested.
These projects will be done next Tuesday and Thursday.

Happy Stamping!

Winner and backyard company

The winner of the drawing this month is Rosie.
Congratulations! I will be stopping by with a little gift for you next week.

These two ducks have been visiting all spring. They swim in the pond and sleep next to the bush. I keep hoping that they will nest here and raise their young.
The reason that we have the little pond is because of the ducks that we raised after the mother duck was killed and we incubated the eggs nineteen years ago.
Maybe these are the grand ducks!
My plants are looking pretty sad as they are working through the shock of moving outside.
They were not put out too early but go through this every year.

This is a picture from last year!

Giggle Greetings and Fire update

The birthday cheese!
The greeting on the inside says
age is something that doesn't count
unless you are a cheese.
Made with the new Hello Honey in color card stock it looks good enough to eat!
You can make this card at the library on Monday.
There are four cute sayings and images in this set.

Don't forget to check back next time to see who won the drawing this month and leave a comment so you can be in the next drawing.

Last Tuesday they brought in a load of dirt, spread it around, leveled it, and planted grass.
The lot was purchased by the owner of the house on the right.
Now, we wait to see what will be done with it.

It sure is a different scene than it was last summer!
A good reminder of how quickly life can change.
Make the most of the present. It is truly a gift!

Hexagon Hive, Petite Flowers, and Fancy Folds

The hexagon hive framelits is such a nice die. Here I have cut it from Whisper White and put it over the DSP from the Moonlight Paper Stack on page 85 in the new 2014-2015 catalog. If you need a new catalog, come to the Stamp Along on Monday at the Lester Library and you can get one free just for placing an order.
The Petite flowers are stamped with the new in color, Blackberry Bliss and punched with the matching punch. All of the new in colors are so rich that you just fall in love with them the more you use them. That is the Hello Honey on the DSP peeking through the hexagons.

This is another class that I will be doing. Four fancy fold cards. They will be on display at the Stamp Along and we can set a date that works for you if you are interested in making them. The class will be $15 or free with a $40 order.

Don't forget to leave a comment so you can be in the drawing on Monday.
Happy Stamping!

My Paper Pumpkin and Stamp Along

Saturday we met to make our Paper Pumpkin Kit. This one contained materials to make four cards and two gift enclosures. I decided to add a few pieces of Sahara Sand card stock and make all of them cards. The one on the top right is the only one that I made according to the suggestions that came with the kit. That is the nicest part of the kits. You get everything you need to make the projects but you don't have to do them any particular way. When we get together and share the ideas we have so much fun. If you would like to join us, go to mypaperpumpkin.com and sign up. Be sure to choose me for your demonstrator. We usually meet the last Saturday of the month.

Here are some of the cards that are coming to the Stamp Along on June 9th.
If you came to the Catalog Premier at Festival last Friday you have already seen two of these.

If you already have the new catalog, take a look at the set on page 160. I am doing a class to show you some of the potential of this set. I couldn't preorder this set so I can't show you any samples yet. Let me know right away if you are interested in that class.
