Free shipping, Retired list, and Technique Class

Free shipping on all orders this week (ends Friday the 25th) from Stampin' Up! Wonderful opportunity to take advantage of the retired list This year it is while supplies last on the stamps, as well as the accessories. If there is something on that list that you want, you better get it while it is still there. They will be updating the list daily to let us know which items are gone. If you place an order on line, please use the hostess code   GU66XUNG  before Friday to take advantage of the free shipping. Thank you!
Just click on the little crab on the right side on the blog and you will go to my website that says Shop Now and you will see all the items that are retiring. While you are there, check out the clearance and get some great deals!

These are two of the three cards we will be doing next Tuesday at the technique class at Schroeder's.
The class will feature several ways to use the aqua painters, bleach, and the scalloped tag topper punch. The fee for the class is $7 and will be at 10:00 AM.
There is limited space so let me know if you want to attend.
The sets used are Horse Frontier (on the retired list) and So Very Grateful.

Winner and Palm weaving

The winner of the drawing of names for leaving comments this month was Margaret.
She was at the Stamp Along so she got her roll of ribbon there.
Thank you, all, for leaving comments on my blog. I really appreciate it!

This year I learned how to make the roses with the palms. Yes, I learned it out on Fremont Street in Las Vegas! There was a young lady out there on the street making them for a donation. I bought one of them and watched while she made several of them. I have always enjoyed braiding the palms so I was very excited to find out that I actually remembered how to make the roses and I was very pleased with the way they turned out.
I should try doing this with ribbon or other medium that is easier to obtain than palms.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for stopping by!

Butterflies

This card with the butterflies with different textures was inspired by Josee at StampingJo.com

The sponged butterfly is the negative cut from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die.
The larger of the two layered ones is also from that die. I love the way the little butterfly punch fits with it so nicely. This card would work for almost any occasion.
I think I put in a few sayings so there would be a choice for you. This one is from the Loving Thoughts set. The flower is from the Happy Watercolor set from the Occasions Catalog.
I hope this rain lets up for the Stamp Along. But, better rain than the snow they are talking about!
Hope to see you at the Stamp Along!

Hexagon Hive Thinlets card

Another card for the Stamp Along

Much quicker to make than it looks!
I love the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper showing through the Hexagon Hive Thinlet die.
It reminds me of stained glass!

I will have a box of goodies at the Stamp Along this month that you may pick from if you have an order of more than $50 before shipping.
I also have some special goodies for you if you would host a party during April or May.
Do you think that you could fit one in?
I would love to do some projects with you and your friends and help you to receive some nice goodies from SU! besides the one that I will give you!

Stamp Along Cards and Contest

Is Spring really here?
I have some flowers blooming in the sheltered area by the house and I picked some Pussy Willows!
I have been working with the flower theme lately in the hopes that spring is here to stay!
Here are three cards that will be at the Stamp Along next Monday.

Graduation will be here soon, as will be First Communion.
There will be a card or two for each of those.
Two bunny cards for Easter are already packed.
Which ones will you be making?

Don't forget to make a comment to get in on the contest for an extra "goodie." I will be picking a name on Monday morning before the Stamp Along so I can hand it to you (if you are the winner) if you are present.

Easter card for Stamp Along and Fire update

I have been seeing many bunnies on the blogs. The face on this one was inspired by Debbie Henderson but the ears and body, made from heart framelits, came from a very cute brown bunny without a name on it. Sorry, I don't remember whose blog I was visiting when I saw it. I combined the ideas and this is what I came up with to share at the Stamp Along. I think the grass might need a little trimming, don't you?

Fire Update
When we arrived home from our vacation, we could see shadows of the big machine in the lot across the street. Friday morning, I awoke to noises from there and knew that I had to get up or miss it. It was worth it. It was so interesting to see how that big thing gets up on the flat bed truck for transport!

Everything was already picked up and they were just smoothing the ground.

The bucket grabbed the trailer and pulled the machine on just a little. Then it stretched out, as if for balance, then got a little farther on the trailer. Next, it pulled the bucket in close again.

It turned some more and pulled the bucket in close.

The operator got out and went to the cab of the truck and left.

We still haven't heard any cause for the fire and we will have to wait and see what will be done with the, now empty, lot.
