The New Catalog is coming!

Hostess code for this month.
AQGD66HH

The On Stage event was very nice as usual!
On Friday night we had a very nice gathering with a meal for the Silver Elite and above. I was able to sit with my upline and a side line from Oshkosh.
We had some training and got to see the new catalog.
These are all gals from the same group that I am a part of with Ann as our leader.
Ann is the one under the E in ONSTAGE.

Saturday, we gathered again and had meetings, swapping, demonstrations, stamping, and lunch.
After each of the demonstrations of new products there is a prize patrol giveaway.
This is the stamp set that I won.

These are the cards that we made.

There were five of us at our table. Dawn was not able to be with us as her husband was in the hospital.

I did get many very nice swap cards.
I will have them at the Stamp Along on the 13th of May.
I will have my catalog there also so you can take a peek at it. If you place an order at the May Stamp Along, I will put a copy of the new catalog in your order for you.
If you aren't placing an order in May and want the new catalog, please let me know so I order enough of them.

We have adopted a sweet furry cat. He needed a new home and I needed a cat.
It was meant to be that we met up.
He, Salem, has been with us for two full weeks and he is now quite comfortable in his home.
He looks so much like our last cat, CT, and even acts very much like she did that it is very comforting to have him with us.
He is on my lap here. And next in a basket...cats just like to be in a space that is barely big enough for them!

The retired list is on my site and it looks like most of the stamp sets are discontinued but the following list will be in the new catalog. They are now cling stamps, referring to the much better index on them so the "cling" to the blocks.
Sorry they are so tiny. I took a screen shot of them.

Mystery Trip Day Three and more Stamp Along cards

After another nice breakfast at the hotel, we headed toward home. We were on some back roads traveling north and came to Delavan where we stopped at Rosewood.
They had a wonderful buffet where we could choose the ingredients and they made our pasta for us as we watched. Just like the omelet station at breakfast buffets. There was also a large selection of salads and a dessert table with a very good selection. The best part was that they were small portions and they encouraged us to try them all!
After we ate we had entertainment from the owner, her husband, and a friend. They were a wonderful team of singers and songwriters. They sang many well known songs and some of there own compositions.

After the show we headed home.
As with all wonderful trips, it is always good to get home.

Easter is just around the corner so I have a few things for the Stamp Along that you might enjoy.
This is from a Paper Pumpkin from last year, or the year before, but I have several and will bring them in case you would like to do one for a special little one...or not so little one.
Those yellow marks are just shadows. I am not supplying the stuffings (candy) for the bags, so this little guy looks a little misshapen. Yours will look better.

I saw this Tulle shaker card on Rachel Tessman's blog and knew that I had to share it with you.
They are a little labor intense but so pretty. After doing the first one, I thought it would also be a great Mother's Day card or Easter card. I will have several different sayings that you can choose to stamp in the window on your card. There are also choices of DSP from which you can choose.

This card uses the foil that was a SAB free choice. It is so pretty. Both colors are solid but they pick up the light and give off the beautiful colors you see on the left. The one on the right didn't catch the light at all. They are so much prettier in person.

The bunny had to be here for Easter also. Or it can be a cheery card to send with the hopes that spring really is coming.

A nice idea for using your DSP and making it go a little farther than usual is used on these cards.
Come and see the trick.

Hope to see you on Monday!

I will have some retired items at the Stamp Along from which you can choose one for a $50 order at the Stamp Along.

The current hostess code is:
7HTFPNGU
If you place a $50 order on line, you may also receive a retired set.
Please contact me if you place a  qualifying order so we can work that out.
Thank you!

Mystery Trip Day two and Stamp Along cards.

Day 2
We had a very nice breakfast, they made omelets to order for us, at the hotel.
At 9:00 (I love the late starts!) we got on the bus and headed for our first stop of the day. It was the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art. I didn't have a clue!
Turns out it is carvings of gem stones and this museum is a collection of Mr. Lizzadro.

This is one of the many beautiful pieces of art there.
There were extensive pieces of Jade. All were beautiful. It was very interesting.

These are my travel companions for this trip, along with the other 48 people on the trip!
Nancy, Carolee, Helga, and Margaret.

Next stop was the National Shrine and Museum of St. Therese.
The meal was cafeteria style and very delicious.
The tour was fantastic. The guide really knew his material! He told the story of St. Therese's life and explained many of the items they had on display.

This wood carving depicts her life. The left side is before the convent and the right side is her convent years. The center is the many people that were helped by her.
There are several relics of her in the case just below the carving.

This is the guide that we had that told so many interesting things about her life. I wish I had a better memory! He is standing in the doorway of the replica of her convent room. The door is the original one and the window frame is also original. They have a painting behind the window frame that shows the scene that she had when she looked out. The tiles in front of the guide are also original.
Gosh! That room was tiny! No room for stamps in there!

Back to the hotel for a bit of down time. Then it was off to another evening of entertainment.
This is Medieval Times. I knew I would be in trouble because I didn't take my inhaler along!
I have been to these before and the horses get to me and make it hard to breath.

The meal is served without silverware. You eat with your fingers. We had a half chicken, corn on the cob, half a baked potato, and a beverage.
While you are eating, the entertainment is going on in the arena below. I did get to finish the meal before I had to go outside for fresh air because of my breathing. There was ice cream for dessert which the tour guide brought out to me. A lady on the bus also had a problem with the breathing and had her inhaler with her on the bus. When she came out...also early...she let me use it. Bless her! It really helped.

Thus ended day two.

Here are a few more of the cards for the Stamp Along on Monday.
This one is a very "springy" card with its soft color. It uses the eclipse technique.

These two were there last time but if you have been using as many Thinking of You and sympathy cards as I have, you can probably do them again.
Using the subtle folder on the front layer gives the card such a soft linen look.

Don't forget that the 2017-2019 In colors are going to retire soon. If you need ink refills or card stock in those colors, order now or it will be gone.
The Lemon Lime Twist is one of those colors. This card also uses some of the SAB products so you won't be able to purchase them but you can still make the cards with them. The folder and the stamp set used on this one are two of those.

The way our weather has been going, I think we can still use this card with a bit of the "winter" feel to it. What do you think? Please leave a comment.

More of the cards next time, as well as Day Three of the Mystery Trip.
Thank you for taking time to visit with me.

The hostess code for on line orders is:

Thank you!

Mystery Trip March 28 to 30, 2019

Last week I went on a Mystery Trip with Care Free.
I was picked up in Manitowoc about 9:15 AM.

We headed south and our first stop was at Lamb's Farm.
We had a very nice meal and time to spend at their Thrift store and Pet center.
The Farm wasn't open for tours yet so we missed seeing the animals.

Because the weather was so nice that day...in the high 60's...we made an unscheduled stop at the Chicago Botanical Gardens.

Not much in bloom yet.

The Japanese Gardens

Some amazing sculptures

It was wonderful to walk around without a jacket! A very nice taste of spring!
We also wandered into an orchid sale.
There wasn't much left when we got in there, but, after talking with a gal from the Orchid Society, I did adopt an orchid plant. It is not the species found in the local stores so I am not sure what will become of it. Hopefully, it will bloom and I will post it on here or on FaceBook at that time.

Our destination was Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
It is a very small suburb of Chicago.
When we went to our room at the Hilton Garden Inn, we were amazed at the size of the room!

About the time I finished taking the pictures, we got a call asking if we had a handicapped room.
We got it by mistake and had to give it up.
This is the one we got.

By that time we had to leave to walk across the lot to go to a very elegant meal at the Drury Lane Theater. We each had our own plate of butter. The waiters wore white gloves to serve the meal.

Our dessert was a fancy dish of ice cream.

After supper, we went into the theater and saw Mama Mia!
I have not seen it before but those that had, said that this cast did a fantastic job and it was the best they had seen.
Off to bed after the first day.

I had many of the cards for the Stamp Along ready before I left.
Here are a few of them.

This one uses some of the free SAB DSP.
If you wish to change this to an Easter card, I will have a Happy Easter stamp there that you can use instead of the Thinking of You one.

This one could also be a Happy Easter.

This card features a great way to use the specialty papers that you just can't decide which side to use because they are both so pretty.

Now that SAB is over I will have some of my retired sets there so you can choose one with your $50 order.. It is my own personal SAB. I appreciate you, my customers, and am glad to give you a bonus for your order. I may even have a few discontinued bundles there. I will be taking them to the sale in Green Bay on the 27th but will give you first choice.

I will continue with the trip and the cards on the next post.

The current hostess code is:

If you place a $50 order on line, you may also receive a retired set.
Please contact me if you place a  qualifying order so we can work that out.
